I oversee the cadet program in my squadron with the Civil Air Patrol. As of today, there are 60 cadets on the roster. The goal is always to grow the skills of the cadets and help them develop into the leaders of tomorrow.
Just like with any business, there are a ton of moving parts in this system. Instead of building a product or selling a service, we’re executing a leadership development program. Each of these items has to flow through its process in a certain way to reach success.
Just like with any business, there has to be a team of people to make it work. I have a staff of senior adult members and an even bigger staff of cadet members as part of our program. Ultimately, what these people do each week is what makes our cadet program one of the most successful across the country. Even though I’m in charge of the program, I view myself as the one looking for opportunities and having the ability to make them happen. I love the successes my team has. I want everything for them.
